Rev. Delton Farmer

Reverend Delton Farmer was born in Fayetteville, NC.  He has resided in Durham, NC for over 25 years. He earned an Associates of Arts and Science degree in General Studies from the University of Maryland, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from North Carolina Wesleyan College, a Masters of Business Administration and a Masters of Health Administration degree from Pfeiffer University and a Masters of Divinity Degree from Shaw University Divinity School. 

 

 

Reverend Farmer’s professional history includes 6 years of military service in the United States Army. He was stationed 4 years at Fort Bragg and 2 years in Pusan, South Korea. After the military, he worked for 11 years as a Financial Analyst and Accountant.  He has served as a part-time Business Professor for area colleges and universities in the Raleigh-Durham area. He has been employed 10 years with the NC Community College System as Business Instructor and Interim Program Head.

 

Reverend Farmer has been married for 29 years to the former Cynthia Bryant and to this union they have been blessed with two children, daughter Chelsey and son Joshua. 

 

Prior to accepting this wonderful opportunity to serve at Covenant Presbyterian Church, he served as Associate Pastor (TS) of College Heights Presbyterian Church (Coastal Carolina Presbytery, PCUSA) in Fayetteville, NC for 2 years.  He received his early Christian training at New Bethel AME Zion church in Fayetteville, NC.  Additionally, for 22 years, he was a member at North East Baptist Church, where he served in numerous capacities and ministries over the years, including Associate Minister, Deacon, Trustee, Prison Ministry Leader where he taught bible study and ministered at the Federal Prison, Prayer Team Leader, Couples Ministry Leader and Small Group Leader of the Married Couples Ministry.

 

His hobbies include mentoring young men, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

 

Reverend Farmer answered the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ on December 26, 2004, he was licensed in December 2005 and ordained December 11, 2011.  His greatest desires are to be obedient to the will of God and a dutiful servant in spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.
